Q. If a local police department enters data about a missing child, does this automatically issue the alert to the broadcasting stations?
A. No. The only office able to issue the alert to the broadcasting stations is the Michigan Intelligence Operations Center (MIOC)- Operations Desk. They must be notified by phone 517-241-8000 or 877-616-4677. This website is simply a data-entry point for the local departments.

Q. What does “Confirm Alert” mean?
A. It means that you are confirming that the information is correct and that you want to submit it to the MSP East Lansing Operations Center for approval and distribution.
